We all have that  “first” conversation.That specific day and time, that moment, that first instance when, as a child, we put together the thoughts, ideas, or information that launch us into a conversation with another person. It is a monumental event that few people, if any, remember at all. When was your first conversation? What was it about? Who was it with? What was the outcome? Sadly, like me, you probably cannot recall that momentous first conversation. It happened, you know it did, and it does not matter whether the conversation showed your brilliance, levity, innocence, simplicity, or hilarity—it is lost and gone forever.

Conversation sets us apart from all other animals. The use of spoken words to exchange ideas, thoughts, and information is a uniquely human ability. What we say in conversation matters. Through conversation people decide whether they like us or not, whether to follow us or not. Through conversation, we define who we are, who we want to become and what our value is to others. Most importantly, it is through conversation that we get work done.

Bill: What if you're the high priced provider in your product or service area? Here's a couple tips from sales expert, Douglas Kolker. 

Douglas: They have to be comfortable with what they're selling and the value at the price that they have attached to it. If they're not, then they shouldn't be doing it or they should lower their prices without anybody asking them to. But, once you're comfortable with what you're selling and the price, you should never, ever feel defensive. The other thing that a prospect asks you, "why is it so much?" The problem is at least one step, if not more, before that. We're in that problem now, but at the manifestation of what wasn't done before. So, the sales person or the professional service provider hasn't shown them through their questioning, and by helping the prospect see the problems, and the depth of the problems they are going to have if they don't take their service. How their problems are going to get worse and aren't going to go away. 

 

For many years the American Heart Association and the medical profession has been addressing this issue and deaths from Heart Attacks is decreasing, but it still is our number one killer and Dr. Jerry's mission is to try and get your help to change the statistic.

Dealounge is an online deal platform. Our unique mission is to bring undercovered and under-distributed deals to a wider audience.

Many boutique investment banks lack the junior resources to distribute a deal efficiently. These are firms that may have a single Analyst assisting several Managing Directors. Making outbound calls on deals isn't the best use of that Analyst's time. Our electronic platform allows those banks to distribute a deal instantly. We have nearly 1,400 firms on our platform - most of them private equity. We bring the advisor qualified deal interest - for FREE.

We bring these buyers a deal that they may not have known about, of sufficient size (if that buyer subscribes) that the deal is a standalone deal and not simply an add-on. We focus mainly on M&A opportunities having $3MM of EBITDA and above, though we also have smaller deals that may fit as an add on to a portfolio company. For our subscribers, we limit the number of bidders on a deal to 10, and our subscribers get priority during the bidding process over free users.

We are reaching beyond advised deals to add value to truly proprietary opportunities.
